Introduction
Send messages and files between LiveChat agents — no configuration required. Every internal chat is tagged internal_agent_chat to keep your reporting clean.
To start a chat with another agent, select them from the list (in the Chat Widget or Full Screen App) and click Chat. The conversation appears on your Active Chats page.
Installation and configuration
Install the app from the LiveChat Marketplace and authorize it. If no authorization screen appears and the app isn't working, open the Apps section in your LiveChat Agent App, click Manage Apps, find Agent Chat, and click Finish Installation. No other setup is needed.
FAQ
How are internal chats created?
Chats run through LiveChat Messaging: for each pair of agents, a pair of virtual website visitors is created. Our extension starts, resumes, and deactivates these chats automatically, and transfers the virtual visitors to the right agents.
Will this affect my agents' chat limits?
Yes — internal chats count toward concurrent chat limits. We're working on automatically raising and lowering that limit to offset it.
How does this affect reporting?
Every internal chat is tagged internal_agent_chat, so you can easily exclude these chats from your analytics and archives.
Are group chats supported?
Not yet.
